It can be advanced that we are already in the holiday shopping season. In the UK,
this period is known as the Golden Quarter by retailers since they are able to
maximise sales. However, this year, things might be a little bit chaotic.
According to the report, 32 percent of retailers have
revealed that their website is not ready for the surge in traffic that will
take place in the last quarter of 2019. On top of that, only one in five
advanced that they have not finished planning for this period. This will be
quite a disadvantage for them since they will find it harder to compete with
others.
Several other issues have been revealed. 43 percent have not
conducted load testing on their sites
to ensure that the expanded traffic will be able to take place without any
issue. Additionally, 38 percent have not designed images and descriptions of
new products to post on their site. Thus, even if the online shopping
website will be able to take in the load, there would be nothing to show.
With regards to the latest technology, 31 percent have not
updated their search
engine optimisation (SEO) strategies and their pay-per-click (PPC)
marketing campaigns yet. To make the most of the end-of-year season, merchants
should work on these issues.
