Mobile payment: the rise of 5G technology

There are several talks about the rise of 5G technology and its implications. While we cannot be sure of what it would entail, we can remain confident of one thing: it would greatly enhance the mobile payment sector.

The vice president of a firm specialising in cross-border e-payments advanced that m-shopping is on the rise across the world, even in areas where smartphones and other such devices are not the primary focus. For instance, in Western Europe 43 percent of the total e-commerce sales is completed through mobile devices. In Asia-Pacific, this number is 55 percent. As such, when 5G technology will be deployed, the experience will be more seamless, faster and even safer. This is because there will be additional security measures that will be implemented.

Moreover, the introduction of this new technology would result in extra speed and bandwidth. As such, there will be reduced lag and enhanced customer experiences.  Another added benefit would be greater customisation. Consumers enjoy personalised services. Thanks to the improved infrastructure, merchants will be able to generate the raw data required to conduct analysis.
The fact that there is a need for enhanced mobile payment mechanisms in the market cannot be denied. Thus, improving internet connectivity would go a long way towards ameliorating the overall experience.
