Apple is introducing desktops with ARM-based processors

There have been various rumours that Apple might soon ditch Intel. It is instead going to favour ‘in-house’ processors. MacRumors just obtained a research note in which the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo advances that the tech giant will launch “several” new Mac notebooks as well as desktop computers in 2021.

There were already various speculations that these devices will have processors that are ARM-based. These are usually powered by x86 ones. The logic behind this switch is that this architecture will reduce processor costs by 40 to 60 percent and will give Apple the opportunity to offer customers a more diverse Mac lineup. Moreover, these computers will provide several more advantages than the ones the firm normally develops. First of all, this tech is usually reserved for mobile devices. As such, they consume less power and this will lead to longer endurance.

Additionally, the ARM-based processors are able to function more efficiently in compact designs. This is ideal for laptops and on-the-go productivity, something that customers are looking for these days since they constantly have to move around and work at the same time.
To find out more about how Apple is going use these ARM-based processors in its devices, keep following the posts on this blog.
