In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Asda, among several other companies, have brought about changes to
the way they operate to minimise the spread of the virus. Now the firm has revealed
that it is going to enhance its self-checkout process to make it as efficient
as possible.
This new development was announced on its social media page.
The company posted, “To further support our social distancing measures in our
stores and help you to shop contact free, we are pleased to announce that we
have extended Scan and Go mobile to
all stores”. To use this service, customers have to download the mobile app and
complete registration procedures. After that, when they visit a shop, they
should bring their smartphone with them. They will be able to scan and pack
items while they are in the aisles thanks to the application. They have to open
the app, input the location of the Asda outlet they are shopping at and hold a
product’s barcode to their camera to scan it.
This payment system offers several benefits. For
instance, you do not have to unpack and repack at checkout. Moreover, you are
able to oversee how much money you are spending as you shop. This development
comes after Asda
has introduced a ‘no touch’ policy in its stores.
