Following other companies who have announced that they will
start operating again in the UK, Reiss
has revealed that as per government guidance, it is going to reopen part of its
UK stores on June 15.
This decision comes after selected shops in Europe have been
reopened and are running safely and successfully. To make sure that the process
is smooth, only 26 outlets in the UK will be welcoming clients. A few weeks
after this trial, a second wave will follow. According to the fashion retailer, it is in the latest
stage of its phased reopening plans. Moreover, to ensure the safety of
customers and employees and to comply with guidelines from the government,
several measures will be implemented.
The firm has announced that it is going to respect social
distancing regulations and there will be a limit on the number of customers
allowed in an outlet at one time. There will be hand sanitiser at store
entrances and cash desks for clients to use and staff will be provided with
face masks and gloves.
Moreover, to limit the number of consumers using fitting
rooms, clients will be encouraged to purchase garments to try on at home and
use an extended 60-day returns policy. For the time being, Reiss
will operate on reduced trading hours to enable staff to travel to and from
work outside of peak periods.
