Tesco has new queuing rules for when it is raining

Besides measures such as floor markings to ensure social distancing and protective screens to keep customers safe, Tesco has introduced new rules to make sure that people can purchase products comfortably when the weather is bad.

The supermarket chain has announced that it has more regulations for shoppers who are waiting outside the grocery store when it is raining or when it is cold. Instead of queuing, they are requested to stay in their vehicle. A statement on the firm’s website said, “If it’s raining or particularly cold, we may ask you to stay in your car to queue – we’ll let you know when you can come in”. This decision was made since the sunshine and scorching weather are coming to an end and there are forecasts of thunderstorms for parts of the country. Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 10C.

Tesco has also advised that that the quietest times to visit its supermarkets are between Mondays and Thursdays before 11am and after 4pm. The stores are busiest at 1pm with an average wait time of up to 20 minutes.

To help customers out, Tesco has also decided to extend the expiration date on some of its Clubcard vouchers to give people more time to use them.
