In an angry email, the online store Base has announced to
customers that it is cancelling pre-orders for the famous Super Mario 3D
All-Stars. It is blaming Nintendo for this shortage, saying that the firm
should have done more to guarantee enough stocks to ensure that clients'
demands are met.
Part of the email reads, “We have
just been notified of our allocation of Super
Mario 3D All-Stars and it is woefully short. This is very disappointing and
it is with great regret that we have to inform you that we will be unable to
fulfil [your] order on the day of release”. Moreover, the retailer advanced
that since they do not have any reassurance from Nintendo and other UK
distributors that more stock will become available, they are having to cancel
all orders.
Base is not the only merchant
experiencing this issue. Another store has described the product as sold out
four days before its release. As for bigger retailers, such as Amazon,
they are still taking pre-orders. However, there has been no guarantee
regarding the amount of stock that they will have after its launch. As advanced
before, this lack on the market is completely of Nintendo’s
making but the logic behind it is still unknown.
