To deal with the increasing number of coronavirus cases, Tesco has decided to introduce more
social distancing measures across its stores. This was revealed by the
supermarket giant itself.
This news was announced on the firm’s website. Clients were
informed of the changes that will soon be implemented in outlets. The message
goes, “To make sure we’re doing everything possible to reduce the risk of
infection for our customers and colleagues, we’ll be introducing new social distancing measures in our stores
soon”.
It has not been revealed yet when these changes will be implemented.
However, they have been outlined below.
ü
There will be staff members at the entrance of
larger shops to remind customers about safety measures such as wearing a face
covering.
ü
The number of people coming in the supermarkets
will be controlled to avoid large crowds.
ü
Extra cleaning products and hand sanitiser will
be placed around stores.
ü
New floor markings to ease social distancing.
ü
Protective screens at checkout.
ü
Separate entrances and exits will be created
where possible.
ü
Cash or contactless payments will be
encouraged.
ü
Customers are requested to shop on their own to
reduce the number of clients in stores.
ü
People are asked to respect Tesco’s
dedicated shopping hours for the vulnerable and elderly.
