To make sure that customers are able to get their food and
other items without leaving their home this festive season, Aldi has decided to introduce a
delivery app. This system, which is a result of a collaboration with Deliveroo, was already being tested.
Now, it is being extended to 130 more outlets in the UK.
To use this solution, customers have to live within a 6 km
radius of the participating stores. They will then be able to order the firm’s
wide range of grocery products and have them delivered to their house. This
facility is already quite popular among shoppers since clients are unable to
leave their home because of the lockdown.
How does it work? First, you have to download the Deliveroo mobile
app. Then, enter your postcode and click on the ‘Grocery’ category. You
will find a list telling you if your local Aldi offers this service. If it does,
just choose from the many items available and add what you need to your virtual
basket. The delivery fee is £4.99 and all payments can be processed via the
application itself.
An employee from Aldi
will then pick and pack your purchases and the firm advanced that they will be
at your doorstep in just 30 minutes. This process will be contactless to ensure
that everyone is protected.
