Online shopping for the holidays should be done now!

With the lockdown and festivities approaching, online shopping is going to increase. However, if you are planning to make your holiday purchases on the Web, the time to do so is now. This is because companies are facing a lot of pressure with regards to unprecedented traffic, worker and equipment shortages. Thus, there might be delivery delays.

The president of a global e-commerce and delivery service has advised that, to avoid disappointments, clients should start shopping early. Those waiting for the middle of December to order their products will have to prepare themselves to the possibility that they might just not arrive. As it is, Amazon is already experiencing delays with regards to the delivery of some products. Items that are usually shipped within one or two days are taking a week, or even longer.

The National Retail Federation has forecasted that online sales will rise 20% to 30% from last year. It might even reach as much as $218.4 billion. Considering that shipping companies like UPS and FedEx are still struggling to find delivery vans for the season, things are not looking good. As such, the best thing to do if you wish to get your products for Christmas instead of Valentine’s Day is to order right now!
