This new format of shops has been given the name ‘Neighbourhood Hub stores’ and their aim is to be the best ‘one-stop’ offer in a community. They are also going to cater to the shift in consumer behaviour that took place during the pandemic. According to the supermarket chain, “These new stores are a food-led extension of Sainsbury’s renowned convenience offer and are set up to serve longer missions due to their size and location”.

In these outlets, customers will have the opportunity to enjoy value-added food proposition with coffee to-go and fresh juicers, a broad produce range, meat-free and plant-based options, a variety of scratch cooking ingredients, floral and gifting, pet and household supplies, cosmetics and integrated beauty. Moreover, it will feature Argos and Tu clothing collection points.

Putting food at the heart of the business, Sainsbury’s is going to open 18 of these hub stores. Nonetheless, their locations have not been disclosed yet. The firm’s Director of Property advanced that they have received a huge amount of local support ever since they have announced plans to open these outlets. So, they are confident about the project.
