High street: how are stores operating?

With the lockdown, UK high street stores have closed their doors again. As consumers are already aware, they will still be able to get products from most brands since the latter have announced plans to update their delivery, online shopping and click and collect services. Let’s have a look how major discount retailers are operating.

Currys PC World
All of its stores are closed right now. However, its digital shop is open and it is even having a January sale. This is applicable to technology, gaming and home fitness equipment. Clients can enjoy up to 40% off. The firm is also offering a ‘click and collect’ service. Customers just have to order on the Web and visit the store. There is no need to even leave their cars. An employee will put everything in their boots. A walk up option is available for those who do not have a vehicle.

Next
This fashion retailer’s physical stores are only open for click and collect and to process returns for orders made from its website. Thus, you can still shop online if you want to purchase from Next. It should be noted that its standard home delivery service is free for all customers. So you do not have to worry about extra shipping charges.
