With the increasing number of people working from home, Microsoft has decided to enhance its Office
app to make it accessible on iPads. Now, even those using these mobile devices
will be able to benefit from the unified application.
This new system combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into a
single program. It was originally launched for iOS and Android in 2019. Since
then, Microsoft has been gradually updating the app. Nonetheless, it always
operated in a windowed mode instead of a fully optimised iPad application. Now, this has changed. The upgrade enables access
to all of the regular tablet variants of Microsoft’s productivity suite.
Moreover, there are also some useful tools that have been primarily designed
for mobile tasks. For instance, users can quickly create PDFs, sign documents,
convert images to text and tables and so on. It definitely took a while for
this main office app to become iPad-friendly. However, it is worth it since the
tech giant has also added many iPad-specific features, such as mouse and
trackpad support, to it.
Even if Microsoft
has been simplifying its mobile Office offerings into this single app, the
standalone applications for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint can still be
downloaded. These are updated on a regular basis as well.
