OmniPork collaborates with TheVeganKind, an online supermarket

The vegan pork analogue OmniPork was developed by Hong Kong-based Green Monday’s food tech arm OmniFoods. Earlier this year, there was a soft launch for the product in the UK through foodservice channels and via the e-tailer Longdan Oriental Supermarket. Now, following the growing demand for plant-based meat, the brand is on an expansion mission.

It has collaborated with TheVeganKind. This is the largest online supermarket that is dedicated to vegan items only in the country. As such, the plant-based pork mince alternative can be bought by a huge community of British shoppers. Retailing at £3.99 for each 230 gram retail package, OmniPork is made up of non-GMO soybeans, peas, rice and shiitake mushrooms. The founder of TheVeganKind advanced that those in the UK will be fans of the product. He said, “They have recreated it perfectly, and entirely from plant-based sources…This will definitely satisfy meat eaters and vegans alike”. The digital retailer also revealed that OmniPork Strip, another similar item, will soon be launched in the next few months.

Speaking about this collaboration, the founder and CEO of Green Monday said, “Since our pop-up events in 2019 and early 2020, along with overwhelming positive review[s] from many food critics and bloggers, the arrival of OmniPork products in the U.K. has been long anticipated”.
