Spotify updates its desktop app

Introducing new changes, Spotify is updating its application for desktops and web interfaces. Thanks to this, users will be able to enjoy a better ‘look and feel’. This redesign will introduce several cosmetic tweaks, increasing its similarity to its mobile app.

The Swedish company is implementing this update after debating and working on it for months. What are some of the changes that have been brought about? For instance, the Search field is no longer in the status bar. It can now be located on the side, between the ‘Home’ and ‘Your Library’ options. As such, the ‘Browse’ and ‘Radio’ features are now into the three-dot menu in the upper-left corner.

Additionally, you will be able to add tracks to your playlist more easily. You just have to drag and drop the song towards the collection and that’s it. Moreover, users will have the opportunity to download their customised compilations on their desktop. There are better key combinations that allows you to process more commands as well.

Spotify has already rolled out this redesign to users across the globe. However, it will take some time before everyone is able to benefit from it. Those using a PC can download the application from Microsoft Store or Epic Games Store and Mac users have to go on its website.
