Alternative payment methods: how will they grow?

 

Things have changed across several sectors globally. For instance, alternative payment methods have become more popular. These are solutions that allow consumers to pay online in innovative ways. Some examples are mobile wallets or direct operator billing services. It is expected that digital settlement will reach $6.6 trillion in 2021. This represents an increase of 40% in two years. Considering the proliferation of smartphones, mobile money accounts are growing. As such, carrier billing payments are going to make up $2.5 trillion of these transactions.
