To help online sellers on its marketplace manage inventory
and their orders, eBay has
approached the start-up OnePatch for a partnership.
Based in Glasgow, this firm was launched two years ago to
solve a particular problem. The two brothers Richard and Brendan Dunne, who are
web developers, received a request from a customer who needed help to step
‘overselling’. This usually happens when merchants market their products on
several sites and items sell out on one platform but are still displayed as
available on another one. Thus, the brothers developed a software that allows
online sellers to manage their orders, products, inventory, customers and even
their shipping process across several marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Etsy and the merchant’s own e-commerce
website.
The giant eBay noticed OnePatch
and thought it would be useful for its sellers. Thus, it asked the two brothers
if they would join its ‘Partner Growth Initiative’. This would improve the
selling experience for the 300,000 small and medium-sized businesses selling
their products on the platform.
The chief executive of the start-up, Richard Dunne advanced,
“eBay is a worldwide brand and one of the biggest marketplaces in the world. So
it’s amazing for OnePatch
firstly to be found and respected by eBay for what we do. And secondly for them
to ask us to help them improve the eBay experience for sellers and buyers”.
