As announced in a previous article, Morrisons is introducing a health change. It is changing the
labelling system of more than 600 products. This move follows the government’s
announcement with regards to new restrictions on junk food advertisements. Nonetheless, the
supermarket company is not satisfied with the traffic lights system that
officials use. This shows green, amber and red colouring for things like fat,
sugars and calories. The firm said that this is not fit for purpose. A Morrisons
spokesperson advanced, “We are committed to helping our customers make
healthier choices and we are supportive of measuring performance and setting
meaningful targets”.
