Facebook is revamping its settings changes for its apps

In order to enhance user experience, Facebook has announced a few changes. These will be applicable to Android, iPhone, mobile web and FB lite and they involve the mobile app’s ‘setting’ menu.

This part of the application has been redesigned to make things simpler for users. Earlier the settings were spread across different sections. Now, the firm’s aim is to make sure that there is no room for confusion since there will be fewer categories as well. They include Account, Preferences, Audience and Visibility, Permission, Your information, Community Standards and Legal Policies. Moreover, there will be a shortcut for Privacy Checkup that will be placed on top of the Settings page.

Facebook has also announced that that it has improved the search function so that users can easily find the settings, even if they do not know the exact name of location of the functionality that they are looking for.

The changes have been revealed in a blog post where the social media firm has advanced that they have privacy in mind when designing products and services and this implies that information and tools must be accessible and easy to find. Facebook advanced, “We’re confident this new settings page will make it easier for people to visit their settings, find what they came for, and make the changes they want”.
