As advanced in a previous article, Facebook has been
introducing several social commerce
features for the past few years. It is pretty normal that its subsidiary
WhatsApp is following right behind its footsteps.
The instant messaging app is owned by the giant and it is implementing
a shopping tool. This means that users will be able to view a shop via the
application and they will also have the opportunity to communicate with the
business through chat before purchasing something. This move is part of an
update in WhatsApp for Business. Its
aim is to make the commerce aspect of the platform more user-friendly for
companies.
WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users globally and more
than 175 million of them message with Business accounts for things such as
customer support. Many online shops have been turning towards instant
messaging as their primary communication method with clients. This is because
this system is very convenient. As such, this update will undoubtedly be
popular with both consumers and brands.
The firm has already started rolling out this feature in the
US. While WhatsApp
has not revealed when it will be expanded to more regions, the wait should not
be too long before it reaches the UK.
