Microsoft introduces new tools to its Teams app

While the pandemic has pushed more people to work from home, things are slowly getting back to normal. We are now talking about a hybrid form of working. To make things easier for companies, Microsoft has introduced new features to its Teams app.  The tools will be rolled out in the coming weeks or months. They are designed to make remote workers feel more included in meetings, to improve remote presentations and to let users take part in Teams meetings using Siri via Apple’s CarPlay.

Some people have been working from home for more than a year and they were hoping to still be able to do so. This has been shown in a study conducted by Microsoft. In its first-annual Work Trends Index, it surveyed 30,000 people from 31 countries and found that 73% wish to continue with this lifestyle, even on a part time basis. However, as the firm advanced, companies are not really ready for this transition.

Thus, it is trying to help firms create a good hybrid working environment. A series of new technologies will be leveraged. For instance, intelligent cameras will be combined with the software to allow participants in conference rooms to appear in their own chat windows within the Teams app as if they were joining remotely. This will make it easier for workers to see everyone instead of just staring down the centre of a table.
