In an effort to compete with the giants Amazon and eBay, Woolworths has introduced a new online
marketplace. Called Everyday Market, it will offer customers a one-stop-shop
for all kinds of products.
The online platform currently features 2200 items from a
wide range of categories. These include kitchen gadgets, cookware, home
essentials, health, beauty, toys, baby and pet care. Shoppers can now add even huge items like a
vacuum cleaner or a blender to their digital
grocery carts and have them delivered to their doorsteps easily. Moreover,
there is a loyalty program to incentivise customers. Thanks to an Everyday
Rewards card, buyers will be able to receive points on all their purchases from
the online marketplace. It should be noted that there is a flat shipping
fee of $10 and there is no minimum spend on orders.
This marketplace has been created by the supermarket chain
via its online store for customers to order all the items that they need in one
convenient place while they are shopping for groceries. The firm plans to
expand Everyday
Market and add up to 20 000 products more to the marketplace within
the next 12 months. The platform was tested in select areas in July 2021 and
the trial was a huge success.
