Financial exclusion: two billion adults do not have a bank account

It might be hard to picture considering that there are several innovative payment gateways that are available nowadays, but financial exclusion is a real problem. Indeed, that is the case if we rely on traditional institutions. A study conducted has shown that two billion adults do not have access to bank accounts in the world. More than half of those who do not have one are unemployed. They include women and consumers from poor households and are from rural areas. However, two-thirds of them have a smartphone, which allows them to access alternative payment solutions.
