Mobile wallet: Ikea Hong Kong’s new payment alternative

Ikea in Hong Kong is finally answering the worries about safety transactions online from its customers, which is why they are coming through with the mobile wallet payment method.

This cashless payment method is quite easy to generate following a few simple steps:

·        First, you are to receive the consumption coupons brought to you by the local authorities-reflective of your purchases worth H$5,000.

·        Then the second move would be to log into whichever Ikea settlement platform or e-payment application you are accustomed to.

·        This project took effect on the 7th of April as instructed by the government. Hongkongers were able to scan their vouchers via government-approved online billing platforms.

Furthermore, Ikea Hong Kong cannot yet maintain a certain level of flexibility as they are still allowing payments via credit and debit cards as well as banks and other services for the billing of their products. It is a known fact that not all of their customers are familiar with e-payment.

The concept of validating virtual settlements via online payment platforms is bound to reach many more business fields too, as expressed by the vice president of financial technology at Tencent, Daniel Hong. For instance, the use of consumption coupons will definitely build partnerships, such as a ticket price reduction for Disney Land Hong Kong they did last year!
