For the first time ever, Aldi has introduced its home delivery services. Unlike other
grocery stores, this solution was not offered by the budget supermarket before.
Instead, it provided online shopping facilities only for its Special Buys, wine
and hampers.
However, the firm has just collaborated with Deliveroo to trial its new 'on-demand
grocery home delivery' service. This solution will first be tested from its
Daleside Road store in Nottingham and it will be expanded to seven more outlets
next month. To place an order, customers will have to use the Deliveroo app.
They will be able to choose from more than 150 Aldi products, such as bread,
milk and fresh produce, that will be picked and packed by employees in stores.
Then, the delivery company’s riders will be responsible to get them to
customers’ house.
Additionally, this new delivery service is being advertised
as a very fast one. The firm advanced
that the items you order will reach your doorstep in as little as 30 minutes. Considering
that consumers have complained of delays with regards to online grocery
shopping solutions, this is a huge advantage.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer of Aldi
UK & Ireland, said, “We hope the new trial with Deliveroo will provide more
customers with access to great quality, affordable food at Aldi”.

will be delivered within 30 minutes
