With the coronavirus, a lot of people are staying at home.
Instead of focussing on the bad side of things, Shopify has decided to “make lemonade out of the lemons” that life
is throwing at us. It has introduced a new solution for those who may have
wanted to start their dream business since long but have not had the time or
the tools needed to do so. This new offering is perfect for those looking for a
present to give to their loved ones this end-of-year season.
The company has launched “Gift A Business”, which lets people purchase an e-commerce site for
friends and family members. This will allow a merchant to sell products on
Exchange. This is an online marketplace designed by Spotify. It lists more than
10,000 stores in several niche markets, such as fashion, beauty, art, home decor,
automotive and technology. The online stores on Exchange have already
been created by a professional developer. A merchant can also decide to sell
its shop, resulting in a ready-made page.
A spokeswoman for Shopify said, “This is an idea we’ve
thought about for years. We know that family plays a big role in the success of
an aspiring entrepreneur, and so we wanted to help close the gap by encouraging
parents, spouses, siblings or even friends to show support for someone’s
entrepreneurial dream”.
