As advanced in a previous article, M&S is introducing some changes for its re-opening on the 12th
of April. Two of them involve bra fittings which will be contact-free and click
and collect options. This post will explore more of these new regulations.
Videos
Making the most of new technologies, the firm is introducing video-powered retail. This will be
available across furniture and beauty sections and it will connect customers to
specialists in-store at M&S White City via video appointments. This outlet
is one of its five digital trials stores. As such, clients will be better
informed on the products before making a purchase which means that they can
make a decision before visiting the shop or while shopping from home.
Payment options
There are now more ways to pay at M&S. Last year, the brand saw a 200%
increase in downloads of its app and more than one million transactions were
processed via its Mobile Pay Go shopping option. In 2020, the firm
trialled this system in its foodhalls. Now it is combining all of its digital
store shopping services together under a project called ‘Scan and Shop’. Clients
will be able to purchase products using their smartphone or an in-store
handheld device so that they can skip queues.
Additionally, approximately 100 M&S
Cafes will be open for takeaway and 14 will have a ‘dine-out’ option
dedicated outdoor seating areas.
