For the past few months, Instagram has been testing a new feature and today it has
officially rolled it out. The company has introduced captions sticker for its
Stories mode. As such, you have more ways to create contents.
How does this tool work? When you add it to one of the
videos that you have captured, it will auto-generate text captions according to
the audio input. As expected, these auto-captions will not be 100% accurate all
of the time. However, you will still be able to edit the text. There is the
option to change its colour, position and font to best suit your presentation.
Users could first notice this ‘Captions’ sticker a few months ago, but when
they applied it, there was an error message.
Late last year, Instagram introduced a similar option to its
separate Threads app. Following this,
the system was downloaded by a lot of users since people were using this new
option to create TikTok videos. This feature was rolled out for IGTV uploads as
well and the social media company has announced that it will be
available for Reels as well. The firm’s chief Adam Mosseri advanced, “‘Sound
off’ is a request we get a lot so I'm excited that it’s coming to Reels
too. We also hope to expand beyond a handful of countries soon”.
